What is Coaching?
Executive coaching is a process of facilitating the growth of an individual towards reaching their potential. The focus is on professional and personal development whereby goals, options, actions are discussed, analysed and action taken by the individual, assisted by the coach, to achieve sustainable change.
The definition I use of coaching is "the process of working with leaders in a strength based, collaborative relationship to help maximize their potential through self-directed learning and sustained behavioural change” - from the IECL.
Mike provides tailored programs of coaching suited to the needs of the person or team being coached to deliver real and sustainable change. This can range from three to six sessions over a six month period to an ongoing relationship over a number of years. Both individual and team coaching can be stand alone or be integrated with consulting services.

What is Mentoring?
Where coaching is a process of principally facilitation, mentoring is building a close collaborative relationship where the “mentor” brings their experience and insight in guiding, advising and supporting an individual or team.
Mike is well positioned to be a mentor having worked in senior positions in the Australian Public Service for over 20 years (including over 13 years in the Senior Executive) and as a consultant to the public and private sectors. Mike offers stand alone mentoring services as well as being able to integrate mentoring as part of a a consulting service where he brings his expertise on building capability while delivering outcomes. Mike brings a deep understanding of organisational and cultural dynamics to the mentoring relationship to assist you or your staff.
Mike is a volunteer mentor for the Institute of Public Administration and Audit (ACT) Mentoring Program.
